About Me

Austin, TX, United States
rubigirl photography was created out of my desire to capture special moments for my friends and family. i found so much pleasure in it that i decided to make a career out of it. i shoot in a photo journalist style as i love candid shots and feel it is the best way to capture a moment. the name rubigirl photography was born out of my love for my dog rubi. when she looks at you with her big amber eyes you know that you are the most important person in her life at that moment. i feel the same way when capturing a special event or time in a person's life, you are the most important person in my life at that moment. if you would like to contact me for information you can email me at RubigirlPhotography@gmail.com

madeline

madeline is the daughter of some of my favorite people in the world, jen and greg. they'll be moving back home to dallas this weekend and we're going to miss them terribly. i was so blessed to meet jenn 5 years ago at a beth moore bible study. she invited my husband and i to be apart of the group they were hosting to study rick warrens book "the purpose driven life". we've been friends ever since.

i will miss jen's company but can't begrudge her to opportunity to live closer to family. we love you jen, greg and madeline. i miss you already.

night time - downtown austin

last night my hubby and i went on a mini-date to do some night time photos of down town. one place in particular i wanted to photography was the seaholm power plant. the area is about to be developed into luxury condos/retail space. and while the city has every intention of keeping the art deco power plant in tact, i can't help but feel sad that it's about to change so much. i grew up in austin and have always loved the building. in fact i always had dreams of taking posession and turning it into an art museum. not the most atainable dreams, i know. any who, i wanted to get some photos of the area before too many of the changes occured.

these are of my husband's car. i'm not sure of all the details but he's been wanting to get some cool shots to submit for a calendar. 2009 has already been printed, but maybe for 2010.

1950's new years eve party

we rang in our new year making fun new friends. so here's our connection to the hostess lisa. she went to high school with my husband, but! i also know her best friend through my old job. small world. when we got the evite we thought 1950's theme? awesome! lets go all out. i'm so glad we did. it made the evening so fun, and for me much easier to make a connection with people i don't know. i'll remember this as one of my most fun new years eve's. thanks lisa!
